It is unfortunate we must learn of our pre-Christian customs through an ‘outside lens’. The eye that views That interpretation is further skewed this way or that by the interpreter themselves. BUT! Maybe that’s the fortunate part after all. You are forced to come to your own conclusion at that point and to me that is the beauty of our Faith reborn. A term has come about UPG: Unverified Personal Gnosis (everything has to be labeled and compartmentalized apparently, thanks Spergs) and honestly that’s where this Religion is headed. I asked last night which way do we go? Apparently in the short time we have been back it’s in quite a few separate ways. Perhaps that is the truest form to our ancestors. Every locale and region did things differently, even though they had a very similar base style, it had its own twists and flavors. Apparently even a thousand years of alien religion can’t stop us from being stubborn and independent and that’s actually a good thing. One issue that needs to be addressed is how all these apparent thousands on the internet can be brought together somehow.

I have an idea to bridge building if anyone cares: if one of the Folk is hurt or in trouble we need to help them regardless of group affiliation. If a Hof is going up the same. If one group is sued or attacked then we all must come to their aid just as Rohan to Gondor in the LOTR. We can all tell each other we are idiots and so forth and at times I almost believe I’m another religion than most of the ones I see on here, but in the end even people that piss me off are my Folk.

At this time in history it’s more important to establish Hofs etc and great projects than to argue about how to practice.

Thats what I got, anybody wanna try?

“Animism is the way humanity has been deeply connected to the land and its seasonal cycles for millennia, in rapport and conversation with the animals, plants, elements, ancestors and earth spirits. The opposite of animism is the “cult of the individual” so celebrated in modern society, and the loss of the animist worldview is at the root of our spiritual disconnect and looming ecological crisis. Human beings are just one strand woven into the complex systems of Earth Community, and the animistic perspective is fundamental to the paradigm shift, and the recovery of our own ancestral wisdom.”

The Hearth of Hengest held a Day-Moot at the White Horse Stone today. After a long period of almost continuous rains today was fine all day. We honoured Hengest and Horsa at the site, since Horsa is said to have died in battle in this area. Thanks to those who turned out to make it a great day.

a towel and a hearty welcome,
of speech and conversation,
if they can get it,
and good companionship.”

The White Dragon can be seen as being symbolic of the English Folk-Nation and also the Land of England (the 'Dragon-Pulse'). The Serpent-Fire is awakened both in Man and the Land.
